Shanghai launches special nighttime service for summer entry-exit document processing.
On the evening of June 6, at the entrance hall of the entry-exit reception center, despite the fading daylight, a steady stream of citizens came to apply for documents. Unlike previous years, this year’s special session has been moved from Friday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., opening continuously for four weeks without the need for an appointment, better aligning with the schedules of students, parents, and working people.
According to reports, a new urgent processing mechanism has been introduced this year, featuring “on-site acceptance of incomplete documents, online submission of supplementary materials, and expedited background review.” Additionally, a “full online processing” service for passport renewals and replacements has been launched, allowing eligible registered residents to complete the process from home without leaving.
During the special sessions, authorities also launched a themed campaign called “Civilized Outbound Travel, Preventing Cross-Border Fraud” under the 12367 hotline, releasing ten typical anti-fraud cases to remind citizens to be wary of overseas high-salary scams, impersonation of government officials, and other cross-border fraud methods.
