On the night of August 9 and early morning of August 10, a comprehensive rehearsal for the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held in Beijing’s Tiananmen area. Approximately 22,000 people participated in the rehearsal and on-site support operations.

The first comprehensive rehearsal included elements such as the commemorative ceremony and focused on coordinating internal procedures for the full event workflow. It thoroughly tested organizational support and command operations, proceeding smoothly and achieving the intended objectives. Relevant authorities in Beijing expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and support in ensuring the successful completion of the rehearsal.

Tiananmen, or the “Gate of Heavenly Peace,” is a historic gate in Beijing, China, located at the northern end of Tiananmen Square. Built in 1415 during the Ming Dynasty, it served as the entrance to the Imperial City and later became a symbol of modern China. The site gained global attention in 1989 after a pro-democracy protest was violently suppressed by the Chinese government.
