In the first seven months of the year, the city investigated and dealt with 715 cases of violations of the central eight-point austerity policy.
Statistics show that by July 31, a total of 715 cases were addressed, with 730 individuals receiving criticism, education, assistance, or disciplinary action. Among them were 11 bureau-level officials, 161 department-level officials, and 558 section-level or lower-ranking officials.
Of the 730 individuals, 569 received disciplinary actions, including 9 bureau-level officials, 97 department-level officials, and 463 section-level or lower-ranking officials. The violations fell into two main categories: formalism and bureaucratism, as well as hedonism and extravagance.
In cases of formalism and bureaucratism, the primary issues involved “failure to take responsibility, inaction, misconduct, or falsification in duties related to economic and social development and ecological environmental protection, severely hindering high-quality development.” A total of 183 individuals were subject to criticism, education, or disciplinary measures.
For hedonism and extravagance, the main violations included “illegal acceptance of cash gifts or other presents,” “unauthorized banquets hosted by management or service targets,” and “improper distribution of subsidies or benefits.” The numbers of individuals disciplined in these cases were 258, 120, and 33, respectively.
In July alone, the city handled 135 violations, with 150 individuals facing criticism, education, or disciplinary action—including 6 bureau-level, 33 department-level, and 111 section-level or lower-ranking officials. Among them, 108 received disciplinary actions, including 4 bureau-level, 17 department-level, and 87 section-level or lower-ranking officials. The most common violations involved “failure to take responsibility in economic and social development and ecological protection,” “illegal acceptance of gifts,” and “unauthorized banquets.”
