Prince Faisal bin Salman Patronizes the Ceremony
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz oversaw the ceremony for the King Salman Global Award for Postgraduate Studies in the History and Civilization of the Arabian Peninsula, held at King Saud University under the supervision of the King Salman Center for Studies of Arabian Peninsula History and Civilization.

The event began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and then an introductory film highlighting the award’s journey, objectives, and role in supporting scientific research and promoting specialized studies on the history and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula. Subsequently, the winners were honored and presented with their awards, and the gathering concluded with a commemorative photo.
Results of the Third Cycle and Participation Statistics
His Highness Prince Dr. Naif bin Thunayan, General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Studies of Arabian Peninsula History and Civilization and Secretary-General of the award, explained that the scientific committee received nominations from eight countries represented by eighteen universities: Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Morocco, Yemen, Egypt, and Oman, with a total of fifty-six scientific theses, including twenty-six doctoral dissertations and thirty master’s theses. More than eighty specialized reviewers from within and outside the Kingdom participated in the evaluation process.
Awards for Winners and Significance of the Award
The results of the third cycle resulted in four doctoral theses and five master’s theses winning, with one of the awards being shared between two candidates. His Highness noted that the topics of the winning theses reflected scientific diversity in the fields of political and civilizational history of the Arabian Peninsula across its various stages. His Highness expressed appreciation for the generous patronage of Prince Faisal bin Salman, thanking the entities, scientific committees, and organizing bodies that contributed to the award’s success, emphasizing that its continuation enriches historical studies and enhances the status of specialized scientific research in the history and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula at both the regional and international levels.
