He officially became the presidential special advisor for employment affairs after being appointed by President Prabowo Subianto at the Palace in Jakarta on Monday afternoon (8/6/2026). He stated that he has received approval from the labor organization Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) and will fight for the Employment Bill.

Speaking to the media, Said stated that the decision to join the Palace was made after discussions with his fellow comrades at KSPI. He also claimed to have received support from the workers under that organization to continue the struggle from within. Therefore, he agreed to join President Prabowo’s cabinet.

“After we discussed it at KSPI specifically and with fellow workers, we decided to also struggle from within. Because, on the platform of struggle, President Prabowo Subianto’s support for the common people, including workers, farmers, fishermen, and teachers, encouraged us to stand together with him,” he said.

In carrying out his duties, Said will provide input and policy analysis, especially in the employment sector. He promised to speak out and side with the workers. He noted that currently, President Prabowo is surrounded by individuals representing business interests, such as Airlangga Hartarto, Bahlil Lahadalia, Rosan Roeslani, and Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

“(They) provide a lot of input related to capital ownership, while from the workers’ side there is none,” he said.

Therefore, Said is also determined to maintain a balance between the voices of capital owners and workers. According to him, the struggle of the working class must continue to be voiced, including from within the Palace. He also promised to remain critical and speak loudly in defense of the working class, including through priority agendas he intends to pursue.

According to the schedule, the inauguration at the Palace today (Monday, 8/6/2026) coincided with the inauguration of Nanik S. Deyang as head of the Nutrition Agency (BGN). Nanik was appointed by President Prabowo to replace Dadan Hindayana, who is now a suspect in the alleged corruption case regarding the management of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) budget handled by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung).
