The adventure and automotive community is not just about cross-country travel. This was emphasized during the inaugural Kopi Darat Bersama (Kopdar) held on Saturday (6/6/2026), which also served as a moment to strengthen the organization’s social mission.
As of this report, education donations collected during the Kopdar event have reached Rp32 million and continue to increase.
The Chairman, Ali Nurdin, emphasized that overlanding is not merely about driving to remote locations. The organization, established in 2020, serves as a platform prioritizing brotherhood, social awareness, love for nature, and responsibility in exploring various regions of Indonesia.
“The presence of hundreds of community members and invited guests provides new energy for regional administrators to build a more solid, open, and beneficial organization for the wider community,” said Ali on Saturday (6/6/2026).
Ali believes that every journey undertaken by overlanders always holds valuable life lessons while strengthening gratitude for Indonesia’s natural wealth.
According to him, the concept of overlanding is not measured by the type of vehicle or distance traveled. What matters more is the sense of togetherness that grows during the journey, the ability to face challenges together, and the care for the environment and communities encountered along the route.
Ali stated that the region has immense natural potential, from mountainous areas and forests to long coastlines. All this wealth can serve as a shared learning space to be explored responsibly while being preserved for future generations.
“Overlanding Indonesia is committed to building an inclusive and collaborative organization, opening space for all groups regardless of professional background, vehicle type, or community origin, as long as they have a spirit of brotherhood and love for Indonesia,” he said.
Ali hopes that the inaugural Kopdar will be the starting point for various collaborative programs that are not only focused on tourism and adventure activities but also capable of making real contributions to society and the environment.

The Advisor of Overlanding Indonesia West Java, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Oke Djunjunan, expressed his appreciation for the formation of the Overlanding Indonesia West Java management, which he noted moved quickly to build the organization despite being established only about a month ago.
“West Java has long been known as one of the barometers of the national automotive community development,” said Oke.
Oke believes that every positive movement originating from West Java often serves as inspiration for similar communities in other regions.
Oke emphasized that the presence of Overlanding Indonesia West Java has the potential to become a large platform capable of uniting various automotive communities in a spirit of fellowship and collaboration. He is optimistic that the organization can grow rapidly, supported by automotive figures and active local communities.
Furthermore, Oke noted that overlanding activities are unique because they involve direct contact with the open nature. Amid the trend of people spending much time in shopping centers or urban areas, nature exploration activities can offer a different experience while increasing environmental awareness.
Oke revealed that the vehicles used by overlanding members are capable of reaching hard-to-access areas. This potential opens opportunities for communities to organize various social and humanitarian activities in regions that have not yet received optimal assistance.
“The tradition of social activities has indeed become one of the strengths of the automotive community in Indonesia. Therefore, Overlanding Indonesia West Java can strengthen its role through social service programs, educational aid, and community empowerment activities in remote areas,” said Oke.
The inaugural Kopdar of Overlanding Indonesia West Java served as a gathering forum for central administrators, regional administrators, West Java automotive figures, and various communities with similar interests. A sense of togetherness was evident throughout the event, which was prepared by the committee in a relatively short time.
The Secretary of Overlanding Indonesia West Java, Dendi Stefandi, added that with education donations already
