ENVIRONMENTAL DAY – The peak commemoration of World Environment Day at Buperta Cibubur on Saturday (6/6/2026).

The Ministry of Environment (KLH) held the peak commemoration of World Environment Day at the Cibubur Camping and Tourism Ground (Buperta) on Saturday (6/6/2026).

This event is part of the nationwide implementation of the Indonesia ASRI (Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful) National Movement, conducted simultaneously in 38 provinces across Indonesia.

Minister of Environment Jumhur Hidayat explained that the Indonesia ASRI movement was initiated directly by President Prabowo Subianto.

Through the Indonesia ASRI movement, the public is invited to take concrete actions from upstream to downstream in protecting the environment.

Jumhur urged the public to sort waste directly from households and its sources.

Additionally, the public is encouraged to reduce the use of plastic and single-use waste.

“Promoting productive waste utilization through Waste Banks and the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle),” said Jumhur in his speech.

The government also targets planting 2 billion trees to strengthen climate resilience, conserve water, prevent floods, and absorb carbon.

The Indonesia ASRI movement is also held to strengthen governance to ensure waste and garbage are managed safely and to protect green areas.

“Let us together transform our culture towards an environmentally ethical society to welcome Indonesia Emas 2045. Let’s act now for climate. It’s time to work for the climate,” he concluded.
