DEPOK – The Depok City Environmental and Sanitation Agency, through its Division of Environmental Planning and Conservation, launched a massive intervention in urban ecological maintenance throughout May 2026. This tactical step includes accelerating structural greening programs, maintaining urban vegetation, and tightening risk management for handling emergency cases of trees prone to falling, aiming to ensure citizen safety while boosting environmental quality. The Head of the Division of Environmental Planning and Conservation at the Depok City Environmental and Sanitation Agency stated that the entire series of field operations is designed sustainably to construct safe, green, and comfortable public spaces in Depok City for civil mobility.
Based on the real performance reporting draft for the May 2026 period, the agency’s technical team has executed maintenance and visual pruning actions on 278 standing trees along various main road corridors. In addition to these periodic conditioning efforts, authorities also moved quickly to cluster vegetation disaster management by cutting down 14 trees categorized as prone to falling, evacuating three cases of broken branches, and completing the clearing of six fallen tree sites as a draft mitigation measure for extreme weather impacts in the field. In the water and soil conservation sector, the agency intensified the “One Week One Tree” movement by mobilizing active participation from community elements, which in the past month successfully planted 184 new tree saplings and dug 10 biopore infiltration holes as instruments to improve groundwater absorption capacity.
The accelerated performance at the emergency response post proved to be linear with public appreciation. Data showed that based on performance indicator surveys, the community satisfaction index for the quality of services provided by the agency successfully reached a high score of 96.75 percent. As a form of leadership accountability and adherence to the principles of public information openness, the agency is committed to presenting this operational performance achievement draft transparently through periodic publications on a monthly, semi-annual, and annual report scale.
