A press conference was held on June 4 by the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce, announcing that the fourth “Happy Shopping in Hubei: Three Goods Festival” and Hubei Service Consumption Season will launch at Wuhan’s Hang Lung Plaza on June 6 and run until the end of August. This year’s festival focuses on the themes of “delicious food, fun activities, and great joy,” aligning with consumption hotspots such as the “Chu Super League,” the Dragon Boat Festival, graduation season, and summer economy. More than 500 events will be held across cities and counties, aiming to make Hubei a national summer consumption hub and destination.

A key highlight of this event is the integration of diverse consumption innovations. The Provincial Communist Youth League will host the 14th “Challenge Cup” College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition’s innovation and entrepreneurship exchange, featuring a dedicated track for “new consumption and cultural creativity” to encourage students to develop entrepreneurial designs around national trend cultural creations, immersive consumption, and agricultural-culture-tourism integration. Wuhan will launch youth-friendly activities such as the “Graduation in Wuhan” Yangtze River light show, the riverbank ice cream festival, and a joyful youth season; Xianning’s “Joyful Encounter with Xianning: Summer Youth Consumption Season” will introduce new green brick tea products from Hubei’s time-honored brands, with exclusive discounts for young people.

Hubei’s culinary scene is described as “delicious and charming.” Meituan is launching a special Hubei food check-in list, selecting famous local restaurants across the province to help domestic and international visitors easily discover the most authentic Chu flavors. The Wuhan Crayfish Festival will once again ignite the city; the “I Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival in Yichang” food carnival makes the traditional festival tasteable, playable, and shareable.

The “most fun” experiences have been fully upgraded this year. Events such as the Douyu Carnival, the Sino-French Spring “Summer Solstice Music Day,” the central China debut of the Doraemon official IP, and the “Garlic Bird” cute pet pop-up store will roll out one after another, offering trendy new experiences. Ezhou and Xianning will host Dragon Boat Invitational Races, creating a “sports plus Dragon Boat Festival” consumption IP; Jingshan will launch the “Tennis Town Jingshan Night Market,” featuring tennis check-ins, robot performances, water parks, and more—fun for the whole family. Additionally, the province will host “Chu Super League” events and World Cup co-branded pop-ups, providing immersive celebrations for visitors to Hubei.

The event also offers substantial discounts. From June 3 to 10, the Hubei Household Appliances Association, in collaboration with major brands, sales companies, and platforms, will launch a limited-time “national subsidy” activity. This is combined with “instant discount plus lottery” gift packages from nine financial institutions like UnionPay. After offline merchants verify the national subsidy eligibility, consumers can manually draw coupons worth up to 500 yuan. For car trade-in updates, from June 4 to 10, individual consumers who first submit a car trade-in subsidy application will automatically qualify for a lottery, with a chance to win a 1,000 yuan cash reward. Moreover, Wuhan, Yichang, Jingzhou, Huanggang, and other cities have allocated over 100 million yuan in new car purchase subsidies, combined with fiscal interest subsidies for personal consumption loans and automaker concessions, significantly reducing car purchase costs.

Additionally, Sinopec and PetroChina have invested 14.4 million yuan in a “Oil Benefits for People, Smooth Travel in Hubei” gratitude lottery event, with top prizes including a one-year self-service car wash worth up to 5,000 yuan. There is also a “100-Day Zero Violation Challenge”: if car owners have zero traffic violations within 100 days, they have a chance to win up to one ton of gasoline per person.
