Hyderabad, If you feel lazy during a discourse about God, it is not a problem, but if you feel lazy during a discourse about a devotee, there is no fault, but you will miss out on something good. Therefore, if you want to connect with God and awaken a spirit of devotion, listen to the stories of God’s devotees. These words were expressed by storyteller Pandit Pavan Kumarji Malodia at the Nani Bai Ro Mayro event organized by the Ramkot Women’s Mandal at Jain Bhavan in Ramkot.
The Maharaj said that unless you hear about God, your reverence for devotional singing will not increase. Feelings will arise in the hymns, but listening to God’s discourse just once will not change anything. Just as food is needed to sustain the body, similarly, devotional singing is needed to improve one’s life. There is no liberation without devotional singing. The feelings of devotion within a person are awakened by listening to the stories of God and the stories of God’s devotees.
Description of God’s grace on Narsi Mehta
How many times did God show grace on Narsiji. For God to also show grace on us, we must practice devotion like Narsiji Mehta. Everyone is equal for the Supreme Father. God’s devotional singing purifies everyone, and God’s discourse sanctifies the conscience. One should listen to the discourse with caution. The Maharaj said that for Narsiji, God sometimes took the form of a queen, sometimes a son, sometimes a maternal aunt, and sometimes a maternal uncle to help him.
Narsiji Maharaj had only one desire in life: that my Lord of Dwarka always be pleased with me. In life, if a person takes a wrong path, no one stops them, but if someone prays for an hour, people are sure to come and mock them. One does not become a sannyasi or a babaji by praying like that. Prayer in life means expressing gratitude to God, and it is a means to connect with God.
The importance of devotion and hymns in happiness and sorrow
The Maharaj said that no matter what happens in life, do not forget God. Whatever you do, always keep the remembrance of the Lord in your mind. Whether in sorrow or happiness, always stay with the Lord and keep singing hymns. When a soul becomes absorbed in devotion to God, then God will automatically shower grace. There is no doubt about this; just have faith in life like Narsiji. If a person trusts their family members as much, even if they trust God ten percent as much, it is enough.
In times of crisis in life, a family member may not support you, but God will surely support you. Narsiji had nothing; he left everything to the dark-hued Lord and remained immersed in the joy of hymns. The Lord himself filled Narsiji’s storehouse. Where there are true devotees, God himself comes forward and completes every task. God never disappoints his devotees. The Lord always stays with them to protect the honor of the devotee.
God was pleased with Narsiji for just one thing: he never asked for himself. He always asked for others, so the Lord gave him everything. If you ask God for yourself, it is uncertain whether you will receive it or not, but if you ask for others, you will surely receive it. Concluding the discourse today, the Maharaj expressed gratitude to the Ramkot Women’s Mandal and supporters. On the occasion, members of the Ramkot Women’s Mandal provided their cooperation.
