Public services are a series of activities aimed at fulfilling service needs for the community in accordance with applicable regulations.

As one of the government institutions under the Ministry of Finance, the Directorate General of Taxes launched a core tax administration service system called Coretax in early 2025.

Coretax is a core tax administration system that integrates all key tax administration business processes, from taxpayer registration, tax return reporting, tax payments, to tax audits and collections. This application is expected to make it easier for the public to fulfill their tax rights and obligations.

Implementation of Coretax

With the introduction of Coretax, the annual tax return reporting for the 2025 tax year, due in 2026, will no longer be done through the Online system but through Coretax DJP. Therefore, the DJP urges all taxpayers to promptly activate their accounts and create an authorization code/digital certificate (KO/SD). The KO/SD will be used for electronic signing, including annual tax returns.

To start using Coretax, taxpayers who already have a DJP Online account and have obtained a 16-digit NPWP or validated their NIK can follow these steps:

1. Visit the Coretax website at http://coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id
2. Click “Forgot Password?”
3. A password reset link will automatically be sent via email or SMS from Coretax, based on the email and phone number registered in the taxpayer’s DJP Online profile. It is crucial to ensure that the email and phone number used are valid, active, and accessible.

For taxpayers who already have an NPWP but have never accessed the Online system, they can request account activation as follows:

1. Visit the Coretax website at http://coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id
2. Click “Activate Taxpayer Account”
3. Check the box for “Is the Taxpayer already registered?”
4. Enter the Tax Identification Number (NPWP), which will be automatically validated by the system
5. Enter the correct email and phone number
6. Check the “Statement” box

Once taxpayers can log in to Coretax, the next step is to request an authorization code or digital certificate for electronic document signing. The steps are as follows:

1. Visit the Coretax website at http://coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id
2. Enter the username, password, and security code (captcha)
3. On the Coretax dashboard, select the Portal menu, then the “Authorization Code/Digital Certificate Request” submenu
4. Choose the type of digital certificate to request: “Authorization Code”
5. Enter a passphrase in the provided field.
6. Verify identity data by taking or uploading a photo in the Identity Verification section.
7. Check the “Statement” box

By activating accounts and requesting authorization codes early, taxpayers can start using the Coretax application immediately, simplifying the fulfillment of their tax rights and administrative obligations.
