The BCB is currently being run by an interim committee chaired by former opener Tamim Iqbal. Earlier, the National Sports Council dissolved the BCB administration led by Aminul Islam amid allegations of widespread irregularities.
The ICC stated in a release, ‘‘A two-member ICC delegation recently visited Bangladesh to review developments related to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and engage with various stakeholders. The delegation included ICC board directors Mohammad AS Moosajee (Cricket South Africa) and Tavengwa Mukuhlani (Zimbabwe Cricket).’’
According to the statement, ‘‘The ICC wishes to clarify that the delegation will apprise the ICC board of its findings at the appropriate time and will not comment to the media on this matter.’’ During Aminul Islam’s tenure, the BCB decided to withdraw from the T20 World Cup held in India. This step was taken after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) directed the removal of Kolkata Knight Riders’ fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from its IPL 2026 team.
