Ukraine’s Defense Forces Strike Russian S-400 System in Belgorod Region

On the night of June 3, the Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully struck a Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system in the Belgorod region of Russia.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, units of the Missile Forces, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck a launcher and a radar station of the S-400 system. “The enemy’s air defense system was destroyed,” the report said.

As a result of the strike, the Russian military suffered losses in personnel. The exact number of casualties is being clarified.

The General Staff noted that this is not the first successful strike on Russian air defense systems. “The work continues. There will be a result,” the military emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that in the Dnipropetrovsk region, air defense forces shot down a Russian Kh-59 guided missile.

We remind you that Ukrainian defenders continue to destroy the occupiers, and the General Staff calls for trusting only official sources of information.

Belgorod region

The Belgorod region, located in southwestern Russia near the border with Ukraine, has a rich history as a frontier territory first fortified in the 16th century to defend the Russian state from Crimean Tatar raids. During World War II, it was a key site of fierce battles, including the famous Battle of Kursk in 1943, and was heavily damaged. Today, the region is known for its agricultural production, particularly grain and sunflowers, as well as its role as a major transportation hub.

Dnipropetrovsk region

The Dnipropetrovsk region, located in east-central Ukraine, is a major industrial and cultural hub centered around the Dnipro River. Its history is deeply tied to the Zaporozhian Cossacks, with the city of Dnipro (formerly Dnipropetrovsk) founded in the late 18th century as Katerynoslav. The region played a key role in Ukraine’s industrial development during the Soviet era and remains an important economic center today.
