Due to a mega block in the Sealdah division, Eastern Railway has announced the cancellation of several local trains on the upcoming Saturday and Sunday. A major traffic and power block will be implemented in the Sealdah division on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, for infrastructure development and urgent safety maintenance work.

It has been reported that there will be a total of 15 hours of traffic and power block on the up and down suburban lines between Sealdah and Kankurgachi Road Junction. Work will be carried out on bridge number 3 during this time. Train movement on this line will be completely suspended from 10:15 PM Saturday to 1:15 PM Sunday. Railway authorities have stated that the service life of the old girders on the bridge has expired. Eastern Railway has announced these two traffic blocks to replace them. Installing modern and stronger girders will further enhance the safety of the bridge. Additionally, there are plans to increase train speed on this important railway line in the future.
