Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk conducted a working visit to review the Central Papua Provincial Government Center Development Area, Wednesday (3/6/2026).

NABIRE – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk is pushing for the acceleration of infrastructure development in the New Autonomous Region of Central Papua through central government support.

This was conveyed during a working visit for the Review of the Government Center Development Area at the Ballroom of the Central Papua Governor’s Office, Wednesday (3/6/2026).

According to Ribka, accelerating the development of new autonomous regions is part of the government’s commitment to implementing regional expansion policies in Papua to bring services closer to the community and accelerate equitable development.

“Indeed, the state provides special policies for Papua and new autonomous regions with caution,” said Ribka.

She explained that the government continues to oversee the implementation of policies for the formation of new autonomous regions in Papua to ensure they proceed in accordance with the mandate of laws and regulations.

From an institutional perspective, various government apparatuses have been formed and are operational. However, government infrastructure development remains a focus that needs to be accelerated.

“We are pushing for how development funding can be financed by the State Budget,” she said.

Ribka emphasized that financial support from the central government is necessary given the substantial infrastructure development needs in new autonomous regions, while regional fiscal capacity remains limited.

Therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to coordinate with relevant ministries and institutions to ensure the development of government facilities and infrastructure proceeds as planned.

In addition to pushing for funding support, the government is also preparing various measures to accelerate development in new autonomous regions.

These efforts are made to ensure that the needs for government infrastructure, roads, clean water, and other supporting facilities are met, so that public services to the community become more optimal.

Through these various steps, Ribka added, the government hopes that the development of new autonomous regions in Central Papua can proceed more quickly and provide tangible benefits for the community, while also supporting equitable development in the Papua region.
