A 39-year-old man, suspected of being a dealer of marijuana and synthetic drugs, has been arrested.
The suspect, identified as Hayato Sanpei (39), an unemployed resident of Toyokawa City in Aichi Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
According to police, Sanpei is suspected of possessing marijuana and tablets containing the synthetic drug MDMA at his home in April of this year for profit-making purposes.
In response to questioning, Sanpei admitted to the allegations, stating, “There is no mistake.” The street value of the seized items is approximately 2 million yen.
Sanpei had already been arrested in April on suspicion of possessing cocaine at a hotel in Toyokawa City, and police subsequently searched his home.
Police are investigating the routes of acquisition and sales destinations.
