The Foster Family Unit conducted a training course titled “First Aid for Mental Health” on Wednesday and Thursday, November 27 and 28, in partnership with the National Center for Mental Health Promotion. The course was designed for employees of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to improve their skills in managing mental health crises that may arise during their work.

The course covered a wide range of topics, including:
• Recognizing early signs of psychological distress and crises.
• Techniques for initial psychological support.
• Communication methods to reduce tension.
• Procedures for referring cases to specialized services when necessary.

Participants actively engaged with the course and highlighted the value of these skills in enhancing service quality for beneficiaries. They emphasized that such programs help improve the work environment and support both their own mental well-being and that of those they assist.

At the conclusion of the course, the director of the Foster Family Unit thanked the trainers for their professional and outstanding delivery. The director also reaffirmed the unit’s dedication to organizing similar courses in the future to further develop the ministry’s staff and strengthen their professional and interpersonal skills.
