Hyderabad: The Telangana Tourism Minister stated that the state Tourism Department will consider issuing ID cards to content creators to help them gain better access. The minister responded to requests from content creators who made the appeal during a meeting in Hyderabad.
The suggestion and response came at a Social Media Creators Meet organized by the Telangana Tourism Department. The Tourism Minister, the Tourism Department director, and other officials held the stakeholder meeting, which included content creators from the state to offer suggestions on collaboration.
At the event, the Tourism Minister also launched the new social media account of the Tourism Department.
The head of the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation emphasized that the state government wants to look beyond just making videos and content. She added that the state’s rich history and the region’s Persian influences could be highlighted to boost tourism. At the meeting, content creators, including photographers, provided suggestions for working together.
One content creator highlighted that a certain district has beautiful sights that could become an important hub, especially during the monsoons. Another pointed out issues in getting permissions to shoot at historical sites. Attendees proposed that the Tourism Department issue ID cards to help them access places without any problems.
Other suggestions included starting individual accounts for each of the 33 districts of the state, instead of having just one page.
A senior official, while addressing the attendees, stressed the power of content reaching people. „It is a responsibility to yourself and to society. When you tell others about it (history), you might be creating employment there. You all spoke about many things, including civic sense, which is very commendable,“ she said.
The official also said that all the suggestions will be taken into consideration.
