The Uttarakhand government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees and pensioners, providing significant relief. This decision will directly benefit millions of employees and retired pensioners financially. Amid rising inflation, this move is considered a major boon for the workers.

Additionally, the Chief Minister has approved funding for the construction of 06 Type II houses and a boundary wall at Kotwali Paneeshwar in Champawat district for 3.13 crore rupees, for 64 Type II, 08 Type III, and 04 Type IV houses at the Haldwani Fire Station in Nainital district for 36.64 crore rupees, and for 06 Type II and 01 Type III houses at the Reetha Sahib police station in Champawat district for 3.47 crore rupees.

According to the government order, the revised Dearness Allowance will be effective from a specified date, and the benefit will apply to both regular employees and pensioners. The Finance Department has issued instructions to the relevant departments to ensure payment according to the new rates. It is expected that the increased DA will be reflected in the upcoming salary and pension payments.

The state government stated that this decision was made with the aim of providing relief from inflation to employees and pensioners. Employee organizations had been continuously demanding an increase in Dearness Allowance for some time. Following this decision, employee organizations have expressed happiness and called it a positive step.

According to experts, the increase in Dearness Allowance will boost employees‘ purchasing power and also stimulate consumption activities in the market. While the financial burden on the state government will indeed increase, this is considered an important decision in terms of providing relief to employees.

According to government sources, the detailed process related to arrears payment and new rates may be clarified soon. This decision is expected to provide economic strength to thousands of families in the state.
