The East Java Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening law enforcement in the region. A total of 23 Civil Service Investigators (PPNS) were officially sworn in during an inauguration ceremony held at the Raden Wijaya Hall in Surabaya.
In addition to the PPNS, the ceremony also included the appointment of three substitute notaries and two foreign nationals who have officially become Indonesian citizens after completing the naturalization process.
The Head of the East Java Regional Office, Haris Sukamto, emphasized that this inauguration was not merely ceremonial. “The oath of office is a moral commitment and legal responsibility that lasts throughout one’s service. This is not just an administrative formality,” Haris stated in his speech.
Haris also gave special instructions to the newly appointed PPNS, urging them to work professionally, uphold justice, and enforce the law impartially.
“PPNS officers are at the forefront of criminal law enforcement. Integrity and courage in upholding the truth are paramount,” he said.
To the substitute notaries, Haris stressed the importance of maintaining accuracy and objectivity in every document they prepare. “Notaries play a vital role in ensuring legal validity. I expect them to serve the public with transparency and accountability,” he added.
For the two naturalized citizens who officially became Indonesian nationals, Haris extended his congratulations. He emphasized that the decision to become an Indonesian citizen is a tangible expression of patriotism.
“By becoming Indonesian citizens, you now have equal rights and obligations to maintain national unity and contribute to the nation’s development,” he said.
This inauguration is part of the East Java Regional Office’s strategy to strengthen public legal services and uphold the dignity of law in Indonesia, particularly in East Java. The event also reinforces the state’s role in providing legal certainty regarding citizenship, investigations, and notarial services.
Also present at the event were the Head of the Legal Services Division, Raden Fadjar Widjanarko, along with several structural and functional officials from the East Java Regional Office.
