Punjab Local Election Result: Assembly elections are scheduled in Punjab next year. Before that, today the results of elections for 8 municipal corporations, 75 municipal councils, and 21 nagar panchayats—a total of 104 local bodies in the state—will be announced. According to the schedule of the state election commission, vote counting began at 8 am. In the counting so far, the Aam Aadmi Party has maintained its dominance, having won 294 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress has secured 92 seats, the Akali Dal has won 71 seats, and the BJP has captured 20 seats.
According to the state election commission, after the randomization process by the election observer in each district, a counting observer and counting assistants will be appointed. Two micro-observers have also been deployed at each counting center; they will work under the supervision of the general observer and submit their reports to them. Entry into the counting centers is only allowed for authorized persons.
