New Delhi, The government will hold a meeting on Thursday to promote its newly established incentive scheme worth 37,500 crore rupees, aimed at boosting projects that produce gas from coal and lignite.

An official statement said, “The Ministry of Coal is preparing to hold meetings tomorrow (Thursday) on the scheme to promote coal and lignite gasification projects, launched with a financial outlay of 37,500 crore rupees.”

This initiative is a significant step towards promoting coal gasification—converting coal into gas—as a clean and value-added pathway for the efficient use of the country’s coal and lignite resources. These meetings are being organized as part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to rapidly develop a robust coal gasification ecosystem in the country.

New Delhi

New Delhi is the capital of India, designed by British architects Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker in the early 20th century as the imperial capital of British India. Inaugurated in 1931, it replaced Calcutta as the center of British rule and later became the capital of independent India in 1947. Today, it is a vibrant metropolis blending colonial-era architecture, such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, with modern urban life.
