In celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, 400 shopping centers nationwide will host large-scale discount events of up to 80% as part of the Indonesia Shopping Festival (ISF) 2025. This event is a collaboration between the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) and the Ministry of Trade.
ISF 2025 will run for 11 days, from August 14 to August 24, 2025. The APPBI chairperson has set a transaction target of Rp 23.32 trillion during this period.
«The shopping promotion program will run from August 14 to August 24, approximately 11 days. Our target is to reach around Rp 23.32 trillion,» stated the chairperson during a press conference at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta.
The chairperson mentioned that ISF not only boosts household consumption but also serves as an ideal moment to promote sales of local products, including MSMEs. Moreover, this period coincides with the low season following the school holidays.
«This shopping promotion program will help lower-middle-class citizens shop, making prices more affordable. Of course, we will prioritize domestic products, as this event carries the spirit of Indonesia’s independence,» they added.
In addition to discounts, visitors can participate in the Big Shop Big Win raffle, with prizes including a Vinfast electric car, iPhone 16, and millions of MAP vouchers. Visitors only need to shop for a minimum of Rp 100,000 and present their receipt to mall customer service to receive a raffle number.
Not only that, malls will also feature culinary festivals showcasing Indonesian specialties, MSME product bazaars, and cultural performances at various locations.
The Deputy Minister of Trade emphasized that ISF 2025 is part of a national discount series to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day. According to them, this agenda is designed to revitalize the retail sector and boost public purchasing power.
«Consider this as one of the gifts to celebrate our nation’s independence, with the hope of increasing consumer activity, particularly in the retail sector. We also hope it will enhance overall public purchasing power,» said the Deputy Minister.
Besides ISF, there is also the «Shop in Indonesia Only (BINA) Happy Birthday Indonesia» program, organized by HIPPINDO from August 15 to 31, with a transaction target of Rp 30 trillion. Meanwhile, the «Merdeka Madness» program by Aprindo members will run throughout August, aiming for transactions worth Rp 44 trillion.
