DeepSeek is emphasizing becoming a “cost-effective” option for AI agents. According to its website, the Chinese startup is reducing the price of its latest flagship model, DeepSeek V4 Pro, to a quarter of its original price. This latest price adjustment makes permanent a 75 percent discount promotion that was previously set to expire on May 31, 2026.

As seen on the website’s pricing page, DeepSeek V4 Pro prices now range from $0.003625 to $0.87 per million tokens, compared to the previous range of $0.0145 to $3.48 per million tokens. The company’s decision to permanently lower prices comes a month after releasing its V4 models, Pro and Flash, with which it claimed to usher in the era of “cost-effective 1M context length.”

DeepSeek’s deep discounts should prove to be significant cost savings for enterprise accounts or power users who process millions of tokens daily. These large price reductions also present a much cheaper alternative to other popular AI models, such as OpenAI’s GPT-5 or the recently released Google Gemini 3.5 Flash. DeepSeek’s price-cutting tactic may provoke rivals like Anthropic, which previously accused the Chinese company of a “distillation attack” that improperly learns from Claude’s more capable AI models.
