Sourav Ganguly scored 131 runs on his Test debut at Lord’s. Now, he had another ‘debut’ in gully cricket. There, the challenge for Sourav was to break the Lord’s record. And there too, it was a majestic innings. Even though it was gully cricket, the old storm was seen from ‘Dada’s’ bat. He also broke the Lord’s record.

He was invited to a popular Instagram channel, ‘Gully Cricket In’, for a special challenge. This team invites various cricketers from home and abroad and gives them different challenges. For example, a batter has to score a certain number of runs within a specific number of balls. Or a bowler is challenged to stop runs. On the other side, there are batters or bowlers from that group. Previously, stars from Rinku Singh to Tim David were called for gully cricket.

This time, Sourav was challenged to score more runs than he did in his debut Lord’s Test. However, he could not get out more than twice. Even at 53 years of age, he played the ‘go home, daddy’ shots. After hitting a six, he joked that he would also get a mango with the ball. He reached his half-century off 34 balls. He got out once in between. He then scored a century off 58 balls. After that, he celebrated by twirling his bat. Although he was asked to celebrate by taking off his jersey like at Lord’s, he did not agree. In the end, he lost two wickets while scoring 132 runs. That means he scored more runs than at Lord’s. And that too off 68 balls.

The video of this match has already gone viral on social media. Seeing the way he batted aggressively, many claim he could still bat with a better strike rate than many in the IPL. And it’s not like the bowlers in ‘Gully Cricket’ are ordinary. They bowl with considerable pace and swing. Netizens are amazed by Sourav’s ‘dadagiri’ there.
