TANGERANG – The Regional House of Representatives Commission IV of Tangerang City directly supervised the normalization process of the Angke River, carried out by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Banten Province.

The normalization was conducted in RW 3, 4, and 5, Pondok Bahar Village, Cipondoh District. One heavy piece of equipment was deployed by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office to dredge sediment sludge at the location.

During an interview, a member of Commission IV stated that the monitoring, conducted on Friday, was part of their oversight function.

“Thankfully, there is good synergy between the Tangerang City Government and the Banten Provincial Government, which is very serious about tackling the flooding issue,” he said.

He added that he appreciates the performance of the Banten Public Works and Spatial Planning Office and the Governor, who are serious about addressing the flooding problem, especially with the work being carried out ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.

“I give my highest appreciation to the Banten Provincial Public Works and Spatial Planning Office and the Governor of Banten. With this collaboration, thankfully, this normalization can proceed well,” he stated.

He hopes that with this normalization, the flood disaster will not recur in the Pondok Bahar area. “We hope that with this normalization, in the future, the Pondok Bahar area, which is crossed by the Angke River flow, will no longer experience flooding,” he concluded.
