Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin used the moment ahead of Youth Pledge Day 2025 to rally the strength of young people.

During the “Nyoride.Tng With Young People” activity, Sachrudin emphasized that togetherness and the active role of the younger generation are absolute keys to building a more advanced, creative, and harmonious Tangerang City.

The event, attended by hundreds of bikers from various communities, youth organizations, and the Tangerang City Government ranks, became a platform for consolidating the spirit of collaboration.

Sachrudin: Building a City Cannot Be Done Alone

Before the lively participants, Sachrudin stressed that the government cannot work alone.

“Building a city cannot be done alone. It cannot be done by the government only. It requires the role, support, and participation of all levels of society, including young people,” said Sachrudin, while inviting participants to cultivate a sense of ownership towards the city.

According to him, the creative “Nyoride Together” activity is a real form of positive expression by young people that shows the spirit of collaboration and care.

Sachrudin was present not only as an official but as part of the energy of togetherness. He conveyed appreciation and a key message for the younger generation.

“Young people should never feel tired. Keep innovating, thinking positively, being creative, and learning from the strengths of others. From there, great ideas emerge to build this city together,” was his message.

Sachrudin hopes that the innovative and sportsmanlike spirit can become the main strength for youth in bringing about positive change.

Closing the spirited activity, he reminded that Tangerang City is a shared home that must be maintained and made proud by every citizen.

Youth Pledge Day

Youth Pledge Day, or Hari Sumpah Pemuda, is an Indonesian national holiday commemorating the Second Youth Congress of October 28, 1928. During this congress, young nationalist leaders from across the Dutch East Indies archipelago famously proclaimed one national identity (Indonesia), one nation (Indonesia), and one language (Indonesian). This pledge is considered a pivotal moment that galvanized the Indonesian independence movement.

Tangerang City

Tangerang City is a major industrial and manufacturing hub located in Banten Province, Indonesia, on the western outskirts of Jakarta. Historically, it was a significant settlement for the Chinese community, earning it the nickname “Benteng” (Fort), which refers to a 17th-century fort built by the Chinese. Today, it is a key part of the Jakarta metropolitan area, known for its factories and its historic old town, Pasar Lama.
