CILEGON – The head of the Cilegon Regional House of Representatives urged the Cilegon City Government to maximize training for champions of the Quran Recitation Competition (MTQ) who will be sent to the upcoming Banten MTQ event. He requested that the Cilegon City Government target a top-three finish at the Banten MTQ.

“We hope that from the MTQ held in Cilegon City, talents will emerge who can truly carry Cilegon’s name at the provincial and national levels,” he said.

With the slogan JUARE (Honest, Trustworthy, and Religious), which is consistently promoted, he hopes it aligns with the achievements of Cilegon City.

“The JUARE slogan should hopefully align with our expectations for the Cilegon City contingent at the Banten provincial level. We hope for a top-three finish,” he said.

According to him, the effort to achieve a top-three finish at the Banten MTQ event aligns with the cultivation of faith and piety among Cilegon City residents.

“So that the development of faith and piety in Cilegon City can truly be guided by this JUARE slogan,” he stated.

Reviving the Spirit of the City of Islamic Students

He expressed optimism that Cilegon, known as the City of Islamic Students, should be able to revive the fighting spirit of that city.

“One of the ways is through the path of dakwah via the MTQ, so we are committed, between the Regional House of Representatives and the Cilegon City Government moving forward, to improving achievements in the field of MTQ, in line with the JUARE slogan,” he explained.

One step that can be taken is allocating infrastructure and budget to improve faith and piety facilities that support the performance of the Cilegon MTQ contingent in the upcoming competition at the Banten level.

“In terms of facilities, we must prepare the best. Perhaps a quarantine could be held at the Cilegon Islamic Center. So that training is specifically focused on the branches being competed, and if necessary, the training or development could start six months earlier, so preparations are more thorough,” he concluded.
