Saudi Arabia maintained its second place in the standings of the fourth Gulf Games held in the Qatari capital Doha, ahead of the conclusion of the events scheduled for next Friday. The Kingdom’s total medal count rose to sixty-six medals, including 26 gold, 21 silver, and 21 bronze, keeping it in second place behind the host nation Qatar.

Padel adds a silver medal for women

In the padel competitions, the Saudi women’s team won the silver medal after defeating the Qatari team 2-1 in the final round of the tournament. The lineup included AlAnoud Yamani, Fatima Al-Harbi, Basma Al-Huwaish, Lina Abdul Latif, Samahar Kurdi, and Sarah Salleh, who delivered an outstanding performance that enabled them to secure the victory.

Archery scores two bronzes for Saudi Arabia

In archery, Saudi Arabia added two bronze medals. Hessa Al-Sari won the bronze medal in the women’s Olympic recurve event, while Abdul Rahman Al-Mousa earned a bronze medal in the men’s Olympic recurve event.

Archer Safana Al-Ahmadi also qualified for the women’s Olympic recurve final, where she will face the Qatari competitor tomorrow, Thursday. On the men’s side, Mansour Alawi reached the men’s Olympic recurve final to face the UAE team, while Bilal Awadi secured a final spot in the compound bow event against Kuwait.

Archery finals schedule for tomorrow

Thursday’s archery competitions will feature several finals, including the mixed team Olympic recurve final against Qatar, the women’s team Olympic recurve final against the UAE, as well as the men’s Olympic recurve and men’s and women’s compound bow finals against the UAE team.

Saudi karate team completes preparations

The Saudi karate team has completed its preparations to participate in tomorrow’s events. Five athletes will compete: Ali Al-Aryani (60 kg), Saad Al-Saif (67 kg), Ali Maqri (75 kg), Ahmed Al-Maliki (84 kg), and Anas Al-Zahrani (over 84 kg).
