A press conference was held on the morning of May 21 at the State Council Information Office to provide updates on the special campaign to regulate administrative law enforcement involving enterprises.

According to the press conference, since the campaign began in March last year, as of March this year, a total of over 66,000 cases of prominent issues in administrative law enforcement involving enterprises have been investigated and corrected nationwide, recovering 30.7 billion yuan in losses for enterprises. The campaign promoted the implementation of “unified inspections” and tiered, classified checks across regions, resulting in a 34% year-on-year reduction in the total number of administrative inspections. Performance indicators improperly linked to penalty revenue were cleaned up, leading to a 19% year-on-year decrease in national administrative penalty revenue. More than 600 cases of unauthorized cross-regional administrative law enforcement were investigated, and over 610 mechanisms and systems for coordinated cross-regional law enforcement were established nationwide.

Hu Weilie, Vice Minister of Justice, stated that over the course of one year, the campaign focused on rectifying prominent issues such as “unreasonable fees, fines, inspections, and seizures” as well as “unauthorized cross-regional law enforcement and profit-driven enforcement,” achieving significant results.
