“Census-2027: Every Citizen’s Participation Will Build a Strong Foundation for the Nation’s Development” – Call to Complete the Process Online from Home
Surat. The first phase of Census-2027, crucial for the nation’s development plans, has begun across the country, including Gujarat and the city of Surat.
Under the Government of India’s digital ‘Self-Enumeration’ campaign, Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi actively participated in the national process on the second day by filling in his family’s details on the online portal from his home.
On this occasion, he appealed to the citizens of Gujarat, saying that everyone should consider this a national responsibility, join the digital census campaign, and complete the ‘Self-Enumeration’ process from the comfort of their homes.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi stated that Census-2027 is not just a count of the population but a strong foundation for the country’s future development. Based on the data obtained from the census, effective planning for health, education, housing, employment, transportation, and other public welfare schemes is prepared, helping to deliver benefits to the right people.
He said that reliable and accurate data guides the government in formulating policies and plays a crucial role in ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society equally. He emphasized that “a correct census is an important step towards a strong India.”
Harsh Sanghavi explained that under the ‘Self-Enumeration’ process, which runs from May 15 to May 31, citizens can fill in their family information online themselves. This digital process will help the government understand people’s real needs and implement more effective plans in the future.
The Deputy Chief Minister advised citizens to remain cautious, stating that during the census process, OTPs or other confidential information should not be shared with any unknown person, and special attention should be paid to cyber security.
Municipal Commissioner M. Nagarajan, Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Shivach, along with census officials and staff, were present during this time.
