Implementing Directive No. 38/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2026, from the Prime Minister on strictly directing solutions to combat, prevent, and handle intellectual property rights violations, and under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security for local police units to implement comprehensive measures and accelerate the detection, combat, and handling of intellectual property-related crimes, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has applied professional measures to verify and collect documents to determine signs of copyright and related rights infringement by certain companies and related entities.
Based on investigation results and collected evidence, on May 15, 2026, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued decisions to prosecute five criminal cases for the crime of “Infringement of copyright and related rights” under Article 225 of the Penal Code, including: The case at Bihaco Media Services and Trading Joint Stock Company, prosecuting one defendant, Nguyen Hai Binh, General Director of BH Media Company.
The case at Lululola Entertainment Limited Liability Company, prosecuting defendant Vo Van Nam, Director of Lululola Entertainment Limited Liability Company; The case at the 1900 Group, prosecuting two defendants: Nguyen Minh Duc, owner of Doi Mat Troi business household, and Ngo Thanh Tung, owner of Thong Zeo business household.
The case at May Sai Gon Limited Liability Company, prosecuting two defendants: Vo Hoang Viet and Nguyen Trung Truong Huy, Director of May Sai Gon Limited Liability Company; The case at Giong Ca De Doi Center, prosecuting defendant Diep Van Lap, owner of Giong Ca De Doi Center.
After approval by the Supreme People’s Procuracy (Department 3), the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security executed the relevant decisions and orders in accordance with legal regulations.
Currently, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security is focusing resources, expanding investigations, clarifying the criminal acts of the defendants and violations of related individuals, and proposing legal handling; simultaneously investigating and verifying to ensure full asset recovery; and guiding and directing local police to combat, prevent, and handle similar infringements of copyright and related rights nationwide.
The Department of Police Investigation of Crimes on Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling requests that units and individuals engaging in intellectual property, copyright, and related rights infringements voluntarily cease their violations, declare, remedy consequences, and cooperate with authorities to benefit from legal leniency policies.
