Special fraud cases are occurring one after another in the jurisdictions of Sapporo’s Atsubetsu Ward and Kitahiroshima City. At the end of last year, a man in his 60s was defrauded of approximately 145 million yen, and the total damage within the jurisdiction in 2025 reached about 245 million yen. “We want to widely inform the public about the increasingly sophisticated methods and raise residents’ crime prevention awareness to prevent damage,” he emphasized.
