The man is suspected of stealing a pair of shoes (valued at 10,000 yen at market price) belonging to a male junior high school student, who was a customer, from a gymnasium located at 3-chome Suehirocho, Tomakomai City, on February 19.
On February 19, the parents of the victimized student reported to the police that “my son’s outdoor shoes were stolen.”
Subsequently, police officers discovered the same pair of stolen shoes being sold at a recycle shop in Tomakomai City, leading to the man’s arrest.
According to the police, the man had sold the shoes at the recycle shop after stealing them.
During the investigation, the man admitted to the charges, stating, “There is no mistake that I stole someone else’s shoes.”
