In Viramgam, Ahmedabad rural district, police have apprehended a vehicle theft suspect. Seven stolen motorcycles have been seized from him. Here are the full details.

In the Ahmedabad rural district, there had been a significant rise in vehicle theft incidents over the past several days, causing a wave of concern among local residents.

To address this situation, the Viramgam Town Police had devised a special action plan. According to local sources, with local body elections approaching, the police have been conducting intensive vehicle checks in every area.

During this, near Popat Chowkdi in Viramgam, a police team apprehended a person in a suspicious state.

According to reports, when this individual was passing by on his Honda Activa, the police found his behavior suspicious.

When the police officers stopped him and asked for the vehicle’s documents, he could not provide any satisfactory answer. During the initial questioning itself, a major racket of stolen vehicles was uncovered.

The police took immediate action, took him into custody, and began a rigorous interrogation.

During the strategic interrogation, the accused confessed that he had so far stolen a total of 7 two-wheeler vehicles from various districts.

He had a specific modus operandi for these thefts. He always targeted vehicles that were parked unsafely in parking lots. Particularly, vehicles whose owners forgot to lock them or left the keys in the vehicle were very easy for him to find.

This is a major warning for local citizens. According to informants, the accused would roam around public parking areas and crowded spots, only scouting for unlocked vehicles.

Once he got an opportunity, he would take the vehicle and flee. The vehicles found in his possession, such as the Honda Activa and Hero Splendor, testify to how a small mistake can cause a person great loss. The total value of the recovered property from him is estimated by police to be around 2.80 lakh rupees.

The entire operation was led by the Inspector of Viramgam Town Police. The police team immediately began technical surveillance and checking the accused’s past criminal history without any delay.

According to police, they are investigating the possibility that the accused may have committed thefts not just in one or two districts, but also in other surrounding inter-district areas.

Officials at the police station stated that an intensive investigation is underway to determine if the accused has any previous crimes registered against him at various police stations. The alertness of the police team is credited for the successful recovery of such a large number of stolen vehicles.

Local residents have expressed satisfaction with this swift action by the police. The police are also investigating where the accused was trying to sell these stolen vehicles or if he is connected to any gang.

This entire incident serves as a lesson that no matter how active the police are, citizen awareness is equally essential. Viramgam police have appealed to citizens to always lock their vehicles when parking and never leave the keys inside. If anyone is seen in a suspicious state in a parking area, they should immediately inform the police.

To prevent such incidents in the future, the police will also increase patrolling. Following this incident, there is a sense of fear among vehicle theft elements in Viramgam. Police say that further interrogation of this accused in the coming days is highly likely to solve other theft cases.

After the legal process is completed, the seized vehicles will be returned to their original owners. This police operation proves that no criminal can escape the long arm of the law for long. It is due to the hard work of this Viramgam police team that seven families now have hope of getting their vehicles back.
