The two sides also oversaw the exchange of several major cooperation agreements between the two countries, a step that reflects the growing bilateral relations and strengthens the partnership in the fields of sustainable development, energy, and digital transformation.
The signed agreements included a loan of 54.6 million euros to finance the integrated sustainable renewable energy and digitalization program, which aims to support Ethiopia’s efforts in transitioning to green energy and advancing its digital development agenda.
The two parties also exchanged a new framework and roadmap for a public-private partnership project to develop a 150-megawatt geothermal power plant, contributing to the expansion of renewable energy projects in Ethiopia and attracting private sector investments in geothermal energy.
In a social media post, the Prime Minister stated that the discussions and signed agreements reflect the growing partnership between Ethiopia and France, and the shared commitment to advancing sustainable development paths and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
These discussions come within the context of growing Ethiopian-French relations, particularly in strategic sectors related to energy, infrastructure, and technology.
