Commemoration of Kartini Day was used as a moment to present fashion works that highlight the role of women in various aspects of life.

Pendopo launched the latest collection from Iyonono titled “Garis Tangan” on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Living World Alam Sutera.

This collection presents a variety of clothing options such as vests, shirts, outerwear, and skirts, designed for daily activities, both formal and casual.

The materials used include polyester, cotton, and wool, combined with the designer’s signature fabric manipulation techniques.

One of the main features of this collection lies in the weaving technique inspired by bamboo weaving.

This approach becomes a new interpretation of traditional craftsmanship into modern clothing forms with more dynamic textures and silhouettes.

Head of Pendopo Putu Laura said the launch of this collection relates to a reflection on the role of women.

“The Kartini Day moment serves as a reminder for us of the importance of women’s roles in every aspect of life, both as creative individuals and as mothers who are bearers of civilization. Through the launch of the exclusive ‘Garis Tangan’ collection by Iyonono, we want to present works that are not only aesthetically beautiful but also represent empowered women,” she said.

Fashion designer Iyonono stated that she prioritizes material exploration, including the use of recycled materials in her designs.

Additionally, through her studio, she involves housewives in the Cirebon area in the production process as part of empowerment. On the same occasion, Iyonono explained the philosophy behind the collection.

“Through ‘Garis Tangan’, I want to reflect on the figure of a mother as a great woman who teaches the meaning of struggle and endurance in every phase of life. For me, a mother is the first school, an educator who instills values, shapes character, and introduces me to the richness of Indonesian culture and traditions from an early age,” she said.

She added that the exploration of bamboo weaving in the design symbolizes resilience and flexibility, which are considered to represent the role of women.

The launch of this collection was also filled with a talk show themed “About Mother” discussing experiences, values, and the role of women from various backgrounds.

Furthermore, the event featured a trunk show with 15 models from across generations, ranging from 90s-era models to professionals and influencers.
