Water Park-Like Conditions in Ganesh Nagar Area; Supply Affected for Thousands of Families, Residents Angry
Surat. Amid severe heat, while many areas of the city face water shortages and low-pressure problems, a main pipeline burst in the Ganesh Nagar area of Pandesara, causing clean drinking water to flow onto the streets.
After the incident, strong jets of water began rising on the road, creating a scene resembling a water park in the entire area. Local children and youth were seen bathing in the flowing water, while some people were washing vehicles with it. During this time, a large amount of precious drinking water was wasted, leading to anger among local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred due to high pressure in the pipeline, causing water to flow on the road for a long time. People allege that despite being informed, the concerned department did not take timely action.
This incident has affected the water supply of thousands of families in the surrounding area. Such wastage of water and disruption of supply during this hot period has become a major problem for the people.
In this regard, an official from the hydraulic department of the Surat Municipal Corporation stated that the pipeline burst due to a leak in the connection. A team has been sent to the site for repair work, and assurance has been given to resolve the problem soon.
