A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder after a series of attacks on multiple women in the West Midlands. The suspect was taken into custody on Saturday evening.
The victims include a 22-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman, both of whom were attacked in Wolverhampton on Monday, March 3, and Thursday, March 6, respectively. A 36-year-old woman was also attacked in Birmingham on Tuesday, March 4.
All three women were taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
Police are investigating whether the incidents are linked to the death of a woman in her 20s, who was found dead in a Wolverhampton park on Monday, March 3. Her death is being treated as unexplained.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place this week. Police have stated that they are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances of her death.
The 19-year-old suspect remains in custody for questioning.
