Hajer Club’s first football team secured their return ticket to the Yelo League, despite losing to their hosts Al-Ain with a score of (1-2) in the second leg of the promotion playoff held on Wednesday at their stadium.
The Al-Ahsa team advanced thanks to their advantage in the first leg with a score of (3-1), thus securing the third promotion card and completing the list of teams promoted to the Yelo League, alongside Al-Jeel and Al-Saqr, after they topped the first and second groups in the Second Division League.
The second leg match saw a strong start from Al-Ain, as they opened the scoring through player Charles Andre, before Fawaz Al-Eissa added the second goal in the third minute of stoppage time. Hajer responded with a goal to reduce the deficit through Abdul Rahman Al-Harib after only five minutes, keeping their hopes alive until the final whistle.
Al-Ain also finished the match with ten players from the 84th minute, after their player Wissam Wahib was sent off with a red card, at a time when the final result did not change the identity of the promoted team.
With this achievement, Hajer returns to the Yelo League after a competitive journey in the promotion playoff, benefiting from their advantage in the aggregate score of the two legs.
