A child is suspected to have been a victim of a volleyball coach in West Java. The victim’s parents have reported the case to the police.

The incident went viral on social media after being uploaded by several accounts. In the circulating narrative, the perpetrator is said to be the victim’s coach.

The incident began when the victim’s mother took her child to practice at a youth sports hall and waited nearby. Shortly after, the victim came out and approached her mother.

The victim claimed to have experienced sexual harassment. Then, on Wednesday (April 7, 2026), the victim’s parents filed a police report with number LP/B/38/1/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO DEPOK/POLDA METRO JAYA.

When contacted separately, the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit of Depok Metro Police, First Inspector Sutaryo, confirmed the report. The case is currently under investigation.

“The case is now in the investigation stage. Witnesses and the reported person have been questioned,” said Sutaryo when contacted by reporters on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).

Currently, police are still seeking statements from a psychologist regarding the mental and psychological condition of the victim. Next, the police will hold a case review.

“The next plan is to request a statement from a psychologist regarding the mental and psychological condition experienced by the victim. Then, the following plan is to hold a case review and determine the suspect,” he explained.

Sutaryo explained that the police are still in the process of completing the formal requirements for the investigation. He ensured that they will investigate the case.

“We apologize if the case takes some time because we must complete the formal requirements for the investigation,” he concluded.
