A student from SMPN 11 Tambun Selatan was attacked by fellow students while on their way to school. Police are investigating the incident.

The incident occurred on Friday (April 17, 2026) afternoon. A group of middle school students from a different school launched an attack carrying sharp weapons in the Tambun Selatan area.

After carrying out the attack, they fled. However, one person from the group of students fell off a motorcycle.

The individual was immediately detained by residents. The ninth-grade student, identified by the initial I, claimed to only be a driver or motorcycle rider.

The Tambun Selatan Police Chief stated that the arrested student is currently still a witness. They also mentioned that the attack is still under investigation.

Further, the Police Chief opened the possibility of apprehending the perpetrators who fled after the attack.

“Officers are currently focused on gathering evidence and witnesses at the scene. We ask for your prayers so we can resolve this soon,” the Police Chief concluded.

This case is not the first in the area. A resident named Candra mentioned that there had been a previous brawl involving students.

“Disturbing student brawls in Puri Cendana have happened twice, including this one. The previous one involved high school students in September 2023,” said Candra.
