Non-Political Campaign by Chamber of Commerce and Surat Citizens Council Focuses on Encouraging Citizens to Vote
Surat. In view of the upcoming local body elections, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Surat Citizens Council have jointly produced a three-minute documentary film titled ‘Let’s Vote’. The film was launched at an event held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Ushakant Marfatia Seminar Hall in Sarsana.
This initiative also had the support of Mukeshbhai Patel, Director of Greenlab Diamonds. The film aims to raise awareness about voting among people in a completely non-political manner and motivate them to exercise their right to vote.
The documentary features several prominent figures from the city who encourage citizens to vote. These include the Police Commissioner of Surat, Anupam Singh Gahlot; District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi; Municipal Commissioner M. Nagarajan; Vice Chancellor of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Dr. Kishor Singh Chavda; and actress Yukti Randeria.
Organizers stated that a film titled ‘Line Lagao’ was made earlier, but due to limited use of social media at that time, it did not reach many people.
Considering the current digital era, ‘Let’s Vote’ will be showcased on social media platforms as well as in city cinemas to ensure its message reaches as many people as possible.
According to the organizers, this documentary is a significant step towards motivating citizens to choose the right candidate, cast their vote, and strengthen democracy.
