Emphasis on Youth Awareness Under ‘SWEEP’ Campaign, Commitment to Increase Participation in Democracy

In Rajkot, various awareness programs have been intensified with the aim of strengthening the festival of democracy and increasing youth voter participation. Under the guidance of District Election Officer and Collector Dr. Om Prakash, the ‘SWEEP’ (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) campaign is being actively conducted across the district.

As part of this, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Rajkot organized the ‘Vivekananda Service Corps’ Youth Training Program. The main objective of this program was to empower youth and make them aware of democratic values.

During the training, youth were not only taught about leadership and social responsibilities, but were also informed about the importance of voting. At the end of the program, all participants were administered the ‘Voting Oath,’ in which they pledged to use their right to vote as conscious citizens in the upcoming elections.

The youth also promised to encourage their families, friends, and others in society to vote, in order to ensure maximum voter turnout. This initiative is expected to increase active youth participation in the coming elections and further strengthen democracy.
