Cooling sprays for clothes and “cool rings” are popular as heat countermeasures, with sales doubling this week.

Nagoya exceeded 35°C just after 1 pm today, marking the first extremely hot day of the year. At the Hands Nagoya store, we asked about the hottest-selling heat countermeasure products in anticipation of summer.

“This is the Shirt Shower,” a direct spray cooling spray for clothes called the “Cool Shirt Shower” series. It contains menthol that reacts with sweat to create a cooling sensation.

“It’s very cool. The parts of the clothes that get sprayed feel very refreshing,” said a customer.

“Cool. Cold,” another customer remarked. “I use it every year on my uniform for work.”

The product comes in three scents: mint, grapefruit, and unscented. Since April, about 170 units have sold. Moreover, the Cool Ring, which cools from the neck, is also very popular.

A special cooling agent that freezes even at temperatures below 28°C has been used, and about 450 units have sold since April.
