British Man Rages at Ciputat Cat Boarding, Threatens Residents with Sharp Weapon
A British national with the initials DH caused a disturbance at a cat boarding facility in Ciputat, South Tangerang City.
During the incident, on the night of Wednesday, the suspect allegedly harassed the cat boarding staff, refused to pay service fees, and threatened local residents with a sharp weapon.
After receiving a report about a British national causing a commotion, authorities, together with the local police, immediately secured the individual.
From the investigation, DH committed a significant immigration violation, namely overstaying his permit by 174 days since October.
“DH holds an expired Tourist Visit Stay Permit. The individual is currently detained in a detention room, and we are coordinating with the British Embassy regarding the case,” the statement said.
Officers initially faced challenges during the examination process because DH was unstable and difficult to communicate with due to a mental disorder.
“Therefore, officers took DH to a mental hospital in Jakarta to receive treatment from a psychiatrist. The result was that he is experiencing delusional and hallucinatory disorders,” the statement added.
DH is still being processed further, as he is suspected of violating the Immigration Law, with the threat of administrative action in the form of Deportation and Prevention.
“Currently, we continue to monitor the individual’s mental health condition while the process continues,” the statement concluded.
