A fire destroyed a residential complex made of containers in the city of Raunheim in the southern German state of Hesse, which houses living units for refugees and homeless people, according to a fire department spokesperson.

It was stated: “One resident suffered a shoulder injury and smoke inhalation poisoning, while four firefighters sustained burns due to the intense heat. Police have no indications regarding the cause of the fire.”
It was added: “The fire completely destroyed the complex. It is likely that around 30 people were staying inside, but fire crews found 13 people.”

It was mentioned that upon arrival, flames were coming from the windows of two ground-floor units, where the fire spread very rapidly. It was noted that more than 100 firefighters participated in the extinguishing operations; two fire engines were also damaged due to the intense heat.
