Residents of Karang Serang Village, Sukadiri District, Tangerang Regency, were shocked by the discovery of a high school student’s body floating in the Kaliadem River estuary.
Based on circulating video footage, the victim’s body was wearing a school uniform consisting of a white shirt and gray pants, and was caught on a tree trunk in the estuary area. The victim’s body was found face down and still had a backpack on the shoulders.
An eyewitness explained that the discovery of the student’s body occurred in the afternoon when the seawater in the estuary was receding.
“Residents initially thought it was a doll, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a human body, lying face down and caught on a tree,” the witness stated.
The local police chief confirmed the discovery of the body.
It was explained that the victim was a 16-year-old high school student from Pesantren Al-Mutazam Sepatan with the initials NAW, who came from Kampung Pondok Dadap, West Kedaung Village, Sepatan District.
“When found, the victim was wearing a school uniform from an institution in Tangerang Regency,” the police chief said.
Based on preliminary examination results, the police found several wounds on the victim’s body, including on the right side of the chest and the right hand.
Not far from the scene, police officers also found a motorcycle suspected to belong to the victim, with its handlebars locked.
“The victim has been taken to Balaraja Hospital for an autopsy,” the police chief stated.
The police chief revealed that after questioning several witnesses, including the victim’s friends, the initial suspicion is that NAW was involved in a brawl before being found dead.
“However, the cause of the wounds is still under further investigation,” it was stated.
The police chief explained that they are currently investigating the case to determine the detailed chronology and identify the parties involved.
