Hyderabad, The Task Force police of Khairatabad Zone, in a joint operation with the Nampally police, arrested three accused persons and seized 999 electric cigarettes worth ₹34.03 lakh from their possession.

According to a press release issued here, based on information received by sources, Task Force Inspector P. Raghavendra arrested three youths yesterday evening from the jurisdiction of Nampally police station. The arrested youths were identified as Mohammed Ahmed (36), a salesman from Vengal Rao Nagar, S.R. Nagar; Mohammed Asjad Raza alias Arhaan (30), a welder from Agapura, Nampally; and Vinit Mantri, a private employee from M.A.R. Residency, Attapur. All three were involved in selling the banned e-cigarettes together.

After arresting the three, 180 e-cigarettes were seized from their possession, which they were about to sell. Furthermore, a total of 999 banned e-cigarettes were seized from their homes. The three accused were in contact via WhatsApp with a person named Ankit from Delhi, from whom they would procure e-cigarettes in bulk and then sell them by receiving orders through WhatsApp and Telegram. The supply of the banned e-cigarettes to customers was being done through Rapido and Porter. After their arrest, the three accused were sent to judicial custody.
