The Depok District Court held the first hearing of the alleged sexual harassment case on Monday (16/6/2025) in the Candra III courtroom. The session was closed, attended only by the panel of judges, the prosecutor, and the defendant. The chair of the panel of judges emphasized from the beginning that the trial was not open to the public, although the families of the victim and the defendant were present at the location, he immediately affirmed that the trial was conducted in a closed session.
“This session is closed, not for the public. Those who are not concerned, please, leave,” stated the judge firmly.
This statement initially provoked protests from a woman who claimed to be a paralegal from Depok.
However, security personnel still asked her to leave the room.
Meanwhile, the defendant’s legal advisor, when approached by the media, declined to comment.
“Later at the second hearing, this is just the reading of the indictment,” he said briefly.
